I won’t say photography is my life, ‘cause there are other things too, like my wonderful family and friends, good food, travel & kayaking. Plus all the adventures you get to have living where we do. However, you could say I’m rarely without a camera!

I’ve been taking photos for almost as long as I can remember. But the world going digital accelerated the obsession and revealed an opportunity to create a life based around my camera. Peter Izzard Photography was born..

Over time I’ve realised that fads come and go. My way is not to follow the crowd but to stick to what has got me to where I am. And that is by producing unique, natural and honest images. Images that will look as great in future years as they do when you first see them.

I’ve been taking pictures of people doing important things like getting together, getting married and having families for well over ten years. I still get a kick out of the privilege it is to be given the task of documenting the momentous and everyday events in people’s lives.

Tim & Leia’s Driftwood Shed Wedding at Terara – South Coast Wedding Photographer

Tim & Leia chose the Shoalhaven River as the backdrop for their recent wedding. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the wonderful Driftwood Shed, situated on 5 rural acres on the banks of the beautiful Shoalhaven River. The property comprises a self-contained cabin and a rustic 80 year old shed filled with old wares, and with mountain views, parklike gardens and country charm, it was perfect for a relaxed, laid-back couple such as Tim & Leia…

Grech’s Turf Supplies, Windsor – Images for New Website

In collaboration with Handmade Web & Design, I was commissioned by Grech’s Turf Supplies to capture a series of images for their new bespoke website. They wanted a fresh, natural and evocative feel – similar to the images on my own site. The brief called for images depicting the on-site turf production processes, along with images of the farm and its natural and manmade environment, and aspirational imagery of finished turf products in established gardens and also in everyday use.

Chase & Clarice’s Willow Farm wedding, Berry – South Coast Wedding Photographer

Chase & Clarice spent a perfect day with a small select & special group of family & friends recently at the gorjus Willow Farm, near Berry NSW. It was one of the first weddings (the first of many, no doubt) held at this magnificent venue, which has a rich history as a dairy farm, and boasts one of the most magnificent old farmhouses you could find.

The Parkers – A Family Portrait

On The Way, There and Back – Gooloogong Landscapes

We journeyed out into the country and spent a fantastic weekend with Sarah, Josh & family on their farm near Gooloogong.

I had previously had the pleasure of shooting their fantastic coastal wedding in Mollymook and, knowing I love my landscape photography I was invited to come out and stay for a weekend sometime, photograph the family being themselves, and go exploring with my camera as well.

I didn’t have to be asked twice. I love the idea of visiting new and different places, and the challenge of capturing a slice of a different way of life to what I know always intrigues me.

The color, the light, the simple shapes of silos and windmills in an otherwise sparce landscape – all these elements made for really interesting photo opportunities. Following are some results..

Watson Family Farm Portrait Shoot, Gooloogong

I think there’s something that makes country people a little different to us coastal/ city folk, in a good way. The hospitality, the generational family bonds, the connection to land…I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it just felt a bit like I was in a different country – or something like it – when I visited the Watson’s on their family farm near Gooloogong NSW recently..

I had the pleasure of shooting Josh and Sarah’s wedding in Mollymook earlier in the year, which was wonderful. At our pre-wedding meetings we got to talking about where they grew up – Josh in Cowra, and Sarah on her family’s farm. “You should come out and stay for a weekend sometime!” said Sarah.

Enough said. I love travelling, and the idea of visiting and capturing a slice of a different way of life to what I know always intrigues me.

And so it was that we journeyed out into the country and spent a fantastic weekend on the farm with Sarah, Josh and her Mum and Dad, brother, sister, in-laws and 4 champion nieces and nephews, the 4 dogs, the galah, the horses, the cow, the chooks, sheep and a lot of canola…

Purcell Family Portraits, near Berry NSW

I jump at the chance to photograph families whenever I’m asked – it’s always great fun and an interesting challenge to creatively capture their characters and personalities. The Purcell’s have a wonderful property near Berry and have done an amazing job of restoring and updating it to suit their needs. We spent a relaxing couple of hours one afternoon strolling around the place, which with it’s original verandah, old fences, vistas and garden set the perfect scene for our portrait session..
